SPTO Welcomes New Chairman
The South Pacific Tourism Organisation welcomes its new chairperson – David Vae-afe, the Executive Director of the American Samoa Visitors Bureau.
The announcement was made this week after the SPTO board met in Auckland, ahead of the South Pacific Tourism Exchange, which ends today.
Vae-afe brings to the organisation more than 20 years of experience in the national and regional tourism industry, and is looking forward to his role as Chairperson.
This is the first time that two members of the smaller island states, are holding positions of the Chair and Deputy Chair.
The Deputy Chair is – Flicity Bollen from Niue.
Commenting on some of the outcomes of the Board meeting, Vae-afe said the board approved the SPTO Membership Prospectus, and new Strategic Plan for 2020-2024, and is committed to elevating tourism to the Minsterial and leaders level, through stronger advocacy.
