Police Investigates Kidnapping Claims

 In breaking news
Investigators are working on information provided by the victim claiming she saw 4 children tied up in a white van during the alleged kidnapping attempt on Thursday morning in Valelevu.
The victim claimed she recognized the uniforms worn by the four children.
Investigators have liaised with the heads of the three schools (2 were in the same uniform) and confirmed that no student has been reported missing or unaccounted for by their parent or guardian.
Checks have also been made at all Police Stations in the Southern and Eastern Division area  of operations, from Navua to Nausori and no reports of missing children remain pending over the last 48 hour period.
The alleged kidnapping report received involving the 11-year-old student is the only report received so far, and there hasn’t been any new report lodged during the same 48 hour period.
We are therefore pleading with anyone whose child is missing or if their child had witnessed or is aware of the alleged kidnapping or abduction incident to come forward or call Crime Stoppers on 919.
We will continue to look into all the information provided to verify the claims of the alleged kidnapping incident.
