No Gold Card Renewal for 6 Non-Compliant Companies
6 companies who used to be Gold Card Certificate members, did not have their certificates renewed because they failed to comply with the tax law requirements and had customs issues.
The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service CEO Visvanath Das says out of the 80 members, only 74 were renewed today.
The Customs Service generates 65% of government’s revenue.
Das said the Gold Card Taxpayer Programme is to recognise the contribution of the taxpaying population in the economy.
The Customs Service had also introduced the Fiji Authorized Economic Operator Programme that focuses on looking at the total supply chain security from the good’s origin to its destination.
Some of the benefits of the Authorised Economic Operator Programme includes the removal of the bond guarantee and late payment fee while the outdoor inspection fee will be borne by the Customs Service.
