Balance for Better is this year’s International Women’s Day Theme.
The Day is a Global celebration for the Economic, Political and Social Achievements of Women.
For someone who has reached a Particular level of Leadership- Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism and Local Government-Premila Kumar is an example of women Empowerment in Fiji.
She has been in leadership role for sometime now and the former Consumer Council CEO strongly believes there needs to be a network amongst women so that they support one another.
She believes Women got to be in the highest level of Leadership Role, however there is still many struggles that women face and its so important that women are confident and removes the shackles that will hinder them from achieving their goals.
Kumar wished all the Strong, Powerful and Independent women all over Fiji a Happy International Women’s Day.
Celebrations will be held throughout many offices across the country,with the much anticipated Reclaim the Night March held in Suva this evening organized by the Fiji Women’s Crisis Center.
International Women’s Day first emerged from the activities of labor movements at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and across Europe.
