Minister for Industry Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources, Faiya Koya has urged vegetable farmers to form co-operatives.

While officiating at the ground breaking ceremony of Koronivia Vegetable Farmers’ Cooperative (KVFC), Minister Koya says co-operative businesses play a very important role in fostering inclusive growth in communities.

“Today’s event is an example of Fijian Government’s continued investment in its own people. It is complimented by the support of the members of Koronivia Vegetable Farmers’ Cooperative, one of the only 2 cooperatives in the central division,” Minister Koya said.

The Fijian Government assisted the KVFC in purchasing a brand new tractor that will that will now ease the burden of farming for the Co-operative members. Government provided $50,000 to purchase the tractor while $22,000 was contributed by the community.
