United States of America got off to a strong start in the first day of the Junior Pan Pacific Championship.

Ella Nelson started the lead for the team after winning the second heats of the 200 meter free-style.

Team Fiji’s Girls Captain- Rosemary Rova came in fifth in the same event.

Isabel Ivey won the third heat after swimming with a time of 1 minute 59 seconds.

The fourth heat went to Japan after Ikemoto Nagisa came in first beating Ryan Michaela of Australian and leaving Walsh Gretchen to finish in third.

The last heat was again dominated by USA with Claire Tuggle finishing first and Lani Pallister of Australia in second.

Meanwhile in the Boys Heats, USA won all five heats.

The Championship is currently underway at the Damodar Aquatic Centre in Suva.
