Fiji Airways National 7s team captain Jerry Tuwai could become the second player in Fiji to win the Sevens Player of the Year Award 2018.
Tuwai has been short listed for the award which will be presented at the World Rugby Awards in Monte Carlo on 26 November.
The playmaker Tuwai earns a nomination for the second year running.
The 29-year-old led Fiji to five titles on the 2018 series, including four in a row from Vancouver to London, and scored 25 tries along the way to also earn a place in the HSBC Dream Team for the series.
It’s the fifth year in a row a Fijian player has been shortlisted for the award, with Samisoni Viriviri winning in 2014 and Semi Kunatani and Osea Kolinisau among the finalists in 2015 and 2016.
The other nominees for the World Rugby Men’s Sevens Player of the Year 2018 in association with HSBC are United States Perry Baker and Ben O’Donnell of Australia.
