Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has reminded police drivers and riders of the important role they play.
ADC Tudravu said that drivers refresher course is a result of the high number of police vehicle accidents and the lax attitudes by some drivers and riders who abuse their authority when on driving duties.
Tudravu said these drivers who are part of the workshop will be given a permit ID card to show that they are classified and are above the normal drivers in the police force.
Any police driver stopped on the roads will be asked for this permit ID and if the driver does not have it, then they will be deemed as an unauthorised police driver.
All together there are 737 police drivers participated in this workshop which will move to the west and the North later in the month.
