A strong wind warning remains in force for the land areas of Southern Lau group.
A damaging heavy swell warning remains in force for the southern coastal areas of Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Kadavu, Beqa, Vatulele, Lomaiviti and the Southern Lau group.
A high pressure system together with a low pressure system to the far south of Fiji generates and directs heavy southerly swells towards the Fiji group.
Meanwhile, a weakening trough of low pressure with the associated cloud and showers remains over the eastern parts
of the group.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
South to southeast winds with average speed of upto 50 km/hr and gusting upto 60 km/hr over the southern Lau group.
Moderate to fresh west to southeast winds elsewhere.
Winds gusty at times.
Expect sea flooding of southern coastal areas of Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Beqa, Vatulele, Kadavu, Lomaiviti and Southern Lau group especially during high tides.
Cloudy periods with some showers over the Lau and Lomaiviti group,the southern and eastern parts and the interior of the larger islands.
