Fiji is one of the few countries Reviewing its National Sports and Physical Activity Policy.
This was revealed by Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports-Maretino Nemani while officiating at the first Consultation on the National Sports and Physical Activity Policy and the National Anti-Doping Policy in Suva Today.
Representatives from the various Sports Fraternity were part of the Consultation.
“This consultation gives us an opportunity to deliberate on what is lacking, what can be improved, what can be done to take sports forward with the support of consultation with the all stakeholders, equally important the ministry has taken a step forward in the National Anti-Doping policy. Its the Governments objectives to the Ministry to legislate the laws, once enacted and passed in Parliament Fiji will be the first in the Pacific Region to have such a law”
Nemani hopes the National Sports Policy will be implemented by the end of the year and if enacted and passed in Parliament, Fiji will be the first in the Pacific Region to have such a Law.
The consultation will be an opportunity to deliberate on what is lacking, what can be improved, and what can be done to take Sports forward in the country
