The Fijian Elections Office yesterday conducted an inspection on damaged, spoils and leftover Ballot Papers.

The Deputy Supervisor of Elections Karyl Winter said that initially FEO had planned to conduct the disposal of off-cut and shredded material at a recycling plant in Suva.

It has come to FEO’s attention that the management of this particular recycling facility, which is the only one of its kind in the country to cater for large amounts, is politically affiliated and one of its affiliates are contesting the General Election under a Political Party.

She adds that it is important to ensure that the off cuts are maintained with the highest levels of security and can guarantee this with the security arrangement at the FEO Warehouse.
