Some roads around the country are closed at this stage.
The Fiji Roads Authority’s latest situation report – advises members of the public that because of heavy rainfall, some roads are closed.
There is a slip before Nasavu Village Road on the right hand side on the Sawani-Serea Road. They have closed off one lane. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution.
Some roads still remain closed and impassable, especially in the Central and Western Divisions.
FRA is advising members of the public to find alternative routes where possible, and take extra caution.
The cracks that were appearing on the Kings Road just before Nayavu Village, Tailevu – were sealed yesterday.
This is still open to traffic.
Motorists are advised not to drive into water of unknown depth and current, as this can be life-threatening, and avoid places of known historical flooding, or low-lying areas
The FRA is closely monitoring the situation of roads in all divisions.
