The Civil Society Sustainable Development Goals Forum on Fiji’s Voluntary National Review Report 2019, was held at Novetel, Lami this week.
More then 60 community volunteers, private sector groups, trade unions, and civil society groups from all divisions gathered to assess and report on their contributions across the 17 goals since 2015.
The forum will for the first time provide an opportunity for CSO’s, private sector and trade unions to Convene discussions around sustainable development programs and activities conducted in Fiji since 2015.
Fiji Council of Social Services-Executive Director-Vani Catanasiga says they are hopeful the deliberations from the two day forum will be included when the Fijian Government presents its country progress report on the SDGs at the UN High Level Political Forum in New York in July.
The Forum will also lay a platform to better coordinate and collaborate between CSO Actors working towards the achievements of SDGS in Fiji.
