The Minister for Forests Honourable Osea Naiqamu visited Navakuru village in Cakaudrove to raise awareness on the need to protect our forests.

While delivering his keynote address,  Naiqamu pleaded with the villagers to reduce deforestation and to plant more trees.

He said this was how they could contribute in their fight against climate change, which has triggered flooding and other natural disasters in the country.

Naiqamu will continue his one week Northern Tour to Kubulau, Bua tomorrow.
