One of the talking points after the ‘Powerade Super Deans’ quarterfinals, was the dominance of western schools – Cuvu College and Ratu Navula College, in the under 18 grade.
At the same time, only one team from the Eastern zone, will feature in the under 18 semifinals this Saturday.
Cuvu College started the western dream in the first quarterfinal…
It was then followed by Ratu Navula College…
It’s something special according to the organizers.
Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Executive Biu Colati said it’s quite historical to have two western teams in the Under 18 semifinals.
Biu added that rugby fans are used to seeing Eastern zone teams Lelean Memorial School, Queen Victoria School and Ratu Kadavulevu School featuring in the semifinals but that won’t be the case this year.
Only RKS will represent the Eastern Zone in the under 18 semis.
This means Cuvu College and Ratu Navula College now have the chance to do something special this year..
Cuvu will play Marist Brothers High School while Ratu Navula will take on defending champions RKS in the semifinals.
The Deans semifinals will be held at the ANZ Stadium on Saturday.
