The Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho who is currently in Bangkok has held bilateral meetings with the Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters.
Discussions focused on the establishment of formal police cooperation under a Memorandum of Understanding between the Royal Thai Police and the Fiji Police through Fiji’s Ministry of Defence and National Security.
Given the increased exchanges between Fiji and Thailand in various sectors of development and trade, both Police Chiefs agreed for a formal police cooperation initiative to be pursued.
The Royal Thai Police Chief has encouraged the formalisation to reflect other areas of exchanges in training as well as people to people exchanges.
Qiliho also had the opportunity to hold talks with the heads of the Royal Thai Police Narcotics Bureau and the Royal Thai Police Education Bureau.
