The Fiji Secondary Schools Under 16 and Under 18 teams that will be traveling to Australia for the Tri-nations series and to New Zealand presented their i-Tatau to President Jioji Konrote yesterday morning.
While receiving the i-Tatau, His Excellency the President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote reminded the two teams that they came through a process of selection and that they have done the hard yards.
While addressing the team, President Konrote said that they have big shoes to fill and he also offered the nation’s well wishes as they prepare to represent Fiji.
He added that this will be an opportunity for them to gain experience at an international level.
Maximus Lestro of Lelean Memorial School was lost for words when he was named captain for the Fiji Under 16 rugby team.
“I was excited and at the same time nervous but I know I have the full support of the team and management”
The Under 16 Rugby team departs on the 28th of September and returns on 6th October from Australia while the under 18 departs of the 27th of September and returns on 5th October.
