As the focus on drugs intensifies throughout the four policing divisions, police officers are also intensifying community awareness to enlist support in the war against drugs.
Officers in the Western Division yesterday attended church services and were deployed from Sigatoka up to Nadarivatu.
Director Operations Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abdul Khan said the success of the arrests made to date was largely due to the information provided by members of the public.
“As we focus on the arrests we also want to acknowledge the support given by members of the public”.
Raids continue to be conducted in both rural and urban areas in all divisions.
“We acknowledge the role religious organisations play in helping Police fight crime and with the deployment of our officers in rural areas we are truly appreciative of their support”.
