Police Constable Dharmend Chand says he is looking forward to continuing his policing career in the traffic department as a rider, despite being a victim of a motor vehicle accident which landed him in hospital for two days.

PC Chand who is originally from Lautoka is based at the Totogo Police Station.

On Monday morning he was heading towards the Station when he was allegedly bumped by a taxi which failed to stop at the junction of Kimberly and Gordon Street.

PC Chand says the experience was traumatising, but it has not discouraged him from continuing his policing career as a rider and serving the people of Fiji in the Traffic Department.

PC Chand was discharged from the CWM Hospital yesterday.

We do hope that motorists can be more alert of the presence of police riders on our busy roads
