The construction of the new $40 million Damodar City site in Labasa will soon begin after the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama officiated at the groundbreaking this evening.
While delivering his keynote address to more than 400 people gathered at the site, he said investor confidence was booming like never before.
“The private sector sees the strength and stability of the nation’s economy, and is making it clear that Fiji is an opportune place for their long-term business prospects,” Bainimarama said.
“Damodar City Labasa plans to have even more features than its counterpart in Suva, covering over double the amount of land–– around 8 acres in total, compared to Suva’s 3.5-acre grounds–– and encompassing a 4-star hotel, high-tech cinemas with a premier event lounge, a department store, and one of the largest supermarkets in all of Fiji.”
This is also expected to generate more job opportunities for people in the North.
