Many devotees were present at the Mahadevi Temple in Vuci Road, Nausori as the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama officiated as chief guest at the 2018 Annual Pooja Ceremony.
Bainimarama highlighted that the Mahadevi Temple draws its hundreds of devotees from a number of surrounding communities such as Fijians from Vuci, Korociri, Kuku, Bau Road and Lakena are all gathered on this day of celebration and prayer.
He also mentioned that one of Government’s notable initiative will have a particular impact on the Nausori area in particular those of residents living on unsurveyed land, many of whom have been there for 20 or 30 years.
Furthermore, he added that Government will cover the cost of conducting land surveys, which will allow more Fijians to formally obtain registered leases.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama also mentioned how diverse religious organisations and institutions like Mahadevi Temple Vuci play an invaluable role in shaping the youth, instilling society with values, and providing a higher purpose to our people.
