Fijian Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama met with United Nations Secretary General His Excellency António Guterres along the margins of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The meeting was held before the Prime Minister took the stage to deliver his national statement.
In the meeting the Secretary General, thanked the Prime Minister for championing climate change globally.
He thanked the Prime Minister for working closely with the United Nations.
The UNSG, said the UN considers the Prime Minister as a very close member.
Further the Secretary General pointed out that Fiji “was already part of the house”.
