National Fire Authority (NFA) attended to a fire emergency call at Adi Cakobau School early this morning.
A wooden dormitory was fully destroyed in the fire that started at 8.19 am.
The National Fire was alerted through a call from ACS and responded immediately.
Upon arrival, the building structure was fully engulfed however, the officers were able to contain the fire to the area of origin and stop the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
NFA CEO Manasa Lesuma was glad that the building’s fire was prevented from spreading to other buildings which could have been a major catastrophe and most importantly that there were no casualties and all students were safe. He also sends a reminder to the public to stay vigilant and help prevent unnecessary occurrence of fire damages to properties.
NFA will be conducting its fire investigations into this incident.
