206 new recruits of the Fiji police force gathered at the opening of the second batch of recruitment at the Fiji Police Academy in Nasova earlier this morning.

Commissioner of police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says this is part of the restructure program that the force will be undergoing in the next 15 months.

Qiliho confirms that to ensure equity within the force, the recruitment process are all based on merit.

New recruit Dipika Anjali Prasad says she believes the force allows both females and males to work together to ensure the security of the general public.

There is a total of 146 men and 60 women will undergo this four months recruitment process.
