Tevita Nabura is honored to be part of the Fijian players legacy to don the Highlanders Jersey.
The 26 year old alongside Waisake Naholo are the latest duos to be playing for the side, following the footsteps of Flying Fijian stars such as Manasa Bari, Aisea Tuilevu and Seru Rabeni- to name a few.
The Naitasiri lad arrived with the team’s advance party yesterday ahead of the Super Rugby clash against the Gallagher Chiefs- this Saturday.
Nabura is overwhelmed to be donning the Otago jumper in this Super Rugby season.
“I always look up to the Fijian players that have played for Highlanders and I’m proud to be playing alongside Waisake Naholo. I am learning a lot from him day by day.”
Nabura played Locks and No.8 back in high school before switching to Wing on an international level.
“It’s been quite a transition. At first it was hard but I’ve gotten use to it. It’s more of a running rugby.”
Meanwhile. the Highlanders are expecting a tough and physical showdown against the Gallagher Chiefs.
The Pulse Energy Highlanders will host the Gallagher Chiefs at 7.35pm this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
