There were all smiles on the faces of 1005 micro and small business entrepreneurs of Suva who received their $1,000 Micros and Small Business Grants from the Minister for Industry and Trade, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya at Valelevu grounds in Nasinu earlier today.
This was the 41st phase of disbursement since 2015.
During the disbursement Minister Koya highlighted that since the inception of this program in 2015 the total number of businesses assisted in the Suva-Nausori corridor is now 3,247.
“You have proven that you have the knowledge and the ability to do business and to improve your livelihoods and positively contribute to the economy. The commitment that you have made has impacted the lives of 16,235 people that live in this area,” Koya said.
He added that following today’s event the Fijian government has invested a total of approximately $3.2 million in the residence living between Suva-Nausori corridor.
“With today’s disbursement, more than 36,000 micro and small enterprises have been formalized and assisted through the MSBG initiative since 2015. This has actually impacted about 180,000 Fijians around the country with the Fijian Government’s investment of approximately 36 million dollars,” Koya said.
