Motorists are advised to be patient and to slow down for safety reasons while Accessing the Lami to Suva Corridor Road Daily.
This was the statement by Fiji Roads Authority Chief Executive Officer-Jonathan Moore this week.
Moore gave an update on the Bridge Work at the Tamavua-I-Wai Bridge and the road works currently underway along the Lami Area.
“Motorist are advised to slow down for safety issues. The Major issue with the Traffic in the mornings and in the Evenings right now is the work we are carrying out on the road between Tamavua Bridge and Lami itself that’s just part of the rehabilitation work and that needs to be done”
Moore also emphasized on the need why this Certain Project has to be carried out Now.
He says people have to understand this is one or two weeks of inconvenience for many many years of finally a good surface to drive on. The Problem with that sections of the road if we left it for another wet season, the road will completely unravel and the cost of rehabilitation a year from now will be two to three times the cost it is now.
The Tamavua-I-Wai Bridge Project is currently on track and is expected to be completed by early next year. About 70 People are working on the Project.
