Mothers and women will continue to be an integral part of our effort to bring about unity, inclusiveness and socio-economic development.

Social Democratic Liberal Party Party Leader, Major General retired Sitiveni Rabuka says Mothers’ Day is celebrated around the world by Christians to express our personal and public appreciation, love and reverence for our mothers.

In a statement, Rabuka says he and his siblings were blessed to have a wonderful
mother who instilled in each of them the values of love and respect for all, values Rabuka says he still carries today.

The former Prime Minister says in our modern and fast changing society, particularly in Fiji, it’s time to reflect on our mother’s contribution to our national social-economic development.

Rabuka says therefore SODELPA will continue to embrace and implement the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women particularly our mothers.
