Twenty Seven participants took part in a two days refereeing course at Daku Primary School in Nadogo.
Fiji FA Referees Director Rakesh Varman said the main objective was to educate new referees on basic refereeing techniques.
“The participants also learnt on the new changes of football laws, ‘said Varman.
Varman said the participants were the first batch of referees who experience the new changes of the law.
“These were the first lot of referees who were educated on the new laws which will be implemented in Fiji from June,”
Varman said he was happy to see the eagerness in the interest in the participants in taking up refereeing.
“It was great to see people showing their interest in taking up refereeing which shows we have people around who wish to be part of football.”
Varman said 15 teachers in the group who would be taking refereeing soon in the North.
“Out of twenty seven participants we have 15 teachers which is good as they will educate players more on the new changes of law.
He thanked Nadogo Football Association, OFC and Fiji FA in assisting to develop more referees in Fiji,
