Major roads will be on rolling closure today from 4.15pm to 6pm – for the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that the rolling closure, will ensure that traffic is flowing – once the Royal Escort has passed the roads listed to be closed.
The roads that will be on rolling closure include – Wainibokasi Road, the Kings Road from Nausori to Nabua, Ratu Mara Road, Waimanu Road, Edinburgh Drive, Rodwell Road, Scott Street, and Victoria Parade.
Double lanes along the Kings Highway from Nausori to Suva will be closed in preparation for the arrival of the royal couple at the Nausori Airport at 4.15pm.
Fiji Roads Authority Chief Executive Officer – Jonathan Moore says, members of the public are advised to thoroughly plan their day, as there will be a series of road closures.
Moore adds that Police officers will be present to assist with traffic movement, and the public are urged to find alternative routes, or travel ahead of time.
