More than 4000 Fijians have been assisted by the Legal Aid Commission since its inception in 2016. With its free 24/7 hour services provided, the commission also claims have not missed a single call too of people reaching out to them, in need of legal assistance.

The Legal Aid Commission’s service is applicable to those who have been arrested and are in need of legal assistance within the first hour of their arrest. The commission reveals that this is crucial because information exchanged in this time frame could determine whether you remain in custody or are let go after questioning.

Members of the public faced with such situations can contact any legal aid office closest to you when in need of their service.
