The largest fire station in the country was Opened by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama in Savusavu, Cakaudrove.
The Government supported $3.7 million project is one of the newly constructed fire stations in the Northern Division including one in Seaqaqa and Taveuni.
“My Government values the well-being and safety of the people of this nation irrespective where you live in Fiji and the National Fire Authority will continue to strive and provide easy access to essential services relating to fire response, road accident rescue, hazardous material rescue, flood and swift water rescue, natural disasters,” Bainimarama said.
He also officiated at the opening of the redeveloped Ratu Ganilau Park in Savusavu.
Bainimarama said sports were an integral part of every town’s development and its promotion required innovative infrastructure development.
