Minister for Fisheries, Semi Koroilavesau met yesterday afternoon with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Shinhee Cho to discuss on areas of partnership.
Koroilavesau thanked Ms Cho for availing herself to meet with him and discuss on areas that they could assist the ministry.
“Your Excellency, I am grateful for this opportunity as we can build on our partnership and work towards improving the work carried out by the ministry especially in the rural and maritime islands,” explained Koroilavesau.
Cho said that the Korean Government has assisted some ministries through small grant schemes under Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and they are also willing to work with the Ministry of Fisheries.
“I am certain that we can build our relationship and together develop and improve our partnership,” said Ms Cho.
The Government of Korea has been instrumental in the development of the ministry through it’s numerous assistance programs.
