The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Fiji Office receives six volunteers from its’ Headquaters in Korea, who arrived at the Nadi International Airport today.
These volunteers will be dispatched by KOICA Fiji Office under the World Friends Korea Program, which is one of the five core programs implemented by KOICA Fiji.
The aim of this program is to provide technical service within the Education and Health sectors which are currently the areas of focus and this is to share experiences, knowledge and promote development together with host organizations through specialized Korean citizens directly working in Fiji.
The volunteers will be hosted under the umbrella of the respective ministries, the Ministry of
Health and Medical Services and the Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts. Two volunteers
will be based in Nausori Health Centre and Sigatoka hospital, whilst four other volunteers will be
based in Sigatoka/Nadroga and Suva primary schools.
The specialists under the health sector will serve in nursing and radiology and for the education sector, the volunteers are specialized teachers for elementary education, mathematics, computer and music.
The volunteers dispatched are according to the requests made by different host organisations provided the availability of these specialists from Korea.
