The Government of Japan today signed Grant |Contracts to Provide assistance to three schools worth more than Five Hundred Thousand Fijian Dollars.
The Assistance was made possible through the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects Program or GGP to construct New Fully Furbished classrooms in the three Schools.
The three schools are Coloi-Naivakacere Primary School, Ratu Emeri Catholic School and Uluivalili College.
The Government of Japan prioritizes Educataion as one of the most important components of Nation Building.
This were the words of Japan’s Ambassador to Fiji- Masahiro Omura during the signing ceremony held in Suva today.
Principal of Coloi-Naivakacere Primary School from Tailevu, Pauliasi Taura said his school was honored to be one of the recipients for the Grant that will construct two classrooms fully equipped with school furniture.
For Rupeni Vulaca, the School Principal of Uluivalili Collge from Savusavu said their school is a young one having been established in 2012 with a total roll of 220 students.
The Grass-Roots Human Security Projects Program is implemented by the Japanese Embassy in order to Empower people from the Grass roots level.
Since 1990 till now, 365 Projects have been implemented under the GGP Program which amounts to an approximate value exceeding $24.6 Million US Dollars.
