Eighty one thousand, six hundred and fifty three visitor – arrived into the country last month.
According to the Fiji Bureau of Statistics, this is an increase of six point six percent – compared to June last year.
There were 22 thousand, 404 visitors that came from New Zealand last month – which is 3 thousand 814 more – compared to June last year.
Meanwhile – there were 9 thousand, 9 hundred and 62 visitors from America – which is 7 hundred and 95 more visitors, compared to the same period last year.
However – there was a decrease in the number of visitors from Australia, the United Kingdom, China, Japan and South Korea.
A total of 77 per cent of the visitors arrived for holiday purposes – while 9.1 per cent came to visit their friends or relatives – 3.1% came for business purposes, and 10.11 per cent came for other reasons.
From January to June this year – a total of 3 hundred and 83 thousand, 9 hundred and 82 visitors, came into the country.
While 3 hundred and seventy two thousand, 6 hundred and 86 visitors arrived within the same period last year.
