Newly promote Nasinu football has been drawn in the pool of death with defending champions Lautoka, Labasa and last year’s finalist Ba in the 2018 Courts Inter District Championship to be played at ANZ Stadium in Suva from October 5-10.

Host Suva takes in-charge of Pool B alongside Nadi, Rewa and Dreketi or Tavua.

The Dreketi and the Tavua football sides are currently placed at the bottom of Vodafone Premier League table and one of it will be relegated to the Premier Division plus will miss the IDC tournament.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said the pool was drawn evenly.

“I think it’s an exciting pool that drawn today (last Thursday) and lot of people will say it is a pool of death but if we look into it all the teams are playing very well now, “Patel said.

Patel said it could be anyone’s tournament.

“We have seen surprises in the tournaments this year and we see the pool it is very exciting and all the teams will be firing to win this year’s Court IDC,” said Patel.

“The way we draw the pools is fare so all the teams that are currently in their standings get evenly match and it is like the same we had during INKK Mobile BOG and who knows it could be the repeat of it,”

Patel said the teams had known their fate and would prepare accordingly to compete against each other.

‘The teams have known now who they will play in the pool stages and can prepare well for their games, “said Patel.

“The prize money for Premier Division is twenty- thousand dollars to the winner and for the Senior Division its seven thousand dollars. This is something that is very exciting for the districts to fight for in the tournament.”

Meanwhile in the Senior Division, Nadroga leads group A with Navua, Taveuni and Seqaqa or Rakiraki.

Tavua or Dreketi will take in-charge of group B and is pooled with Lami, Savusavu and Tailevu Naitasiri.
The IDC will take place from 5th to the 10th of October at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
