A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain to the west of Fiji is expected to gradually move towards the group and affect the country from Saturday.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group: Today: Fine apart from isolated brief showers over the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands.
Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and possible thunderstorms withy heavy falls. Tomorrow:
Cloud cover increasing with rain developing over most places. Rain expected to become frequent and heavy with squally thunderstorms over Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands from afternoon.
Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas. Moderate to fresh easterly winds becoming predominantly northerly tomorrow.
Moderate to rough seas.
Outlook for Sunday : Occasional rain, heavy at times with squally thunderstorms over Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Elsewhere, showers especially in the afternoon or evening.
