Fiji Roads Authority have completed roadworks on various sections in Naitasiri.
FRA General Manager Central Division Aram Goes says these sites were programmed for upgrade works to provide more reliable all-weather access, and improve journey times to these populated and frequently traveled communities in the Naitasiri Province.
The works targeted specific hill sections that were difficult to access by buses, along with school frontages and several surrounding villages.
He says in total 4.3km of new sealed road was constructed.
Goes says drainage works involved improving existing under-road culverts and driveway drainage systems to properly divert the road surface run-off away from the road carriageway.
This is part of the FRA 2017/2018 Renewals Program by the Maintenance Works Department.
