Flour Mills of Fiji Foods Limited is expanding its Veisari Biscuit Factory to accommodate a new unit for Manufacturing of a wider range of its Product and to cater for its Growing Export Demand.
This was confirmed by FMF Managing Director-Ram Bajekal today.
This Expansion will allow for more job opportunities for people residing in the Lami to Navua corridor with an additional 20 jobs created to the already 90 jobs provided. The expansion is to also cater to space constraints at their Walu Bay Premises
Bajekal says the Veisari biscuit factory has been fully functional for the past 2 years and has produced Raun Raun and Sol Cracker for markets in PNG, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. While in the Fijian market it has recently launched the FMF Wholemeal Breakfast Cracker-a premium biscuit with additional dietary fiber for better health.
The FMF group has also placed orders for replacement of its noodles line which will continue to operate out of Walu bay and this new line will help the group cope with the export demand for its chow Brand of noodles.
The Overall investment by the Group for all the Expansion and Upgrade is around $23 million.
