Fiji’s diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China continues to grow stronger and today both countries cerebrate 43 years of diplomatic relations.
This was highlighted by the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ioane Naivalurua while officiating at the reception organised by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy Hospital Ship, Ark Peace this evening.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama with Mary Bainimarama, cabinet ministers and members of the diplomatic corp attended the reception.
Naivalurua says the visit by President Xi Jinping’s demonstrates the friendly exchanges between the people of China and Fiji dating back to a long time ago.
Ark Peace’s task group commander Guan Bailin commended the Fijian government for their great hospitality and also commended the relations between the two countries.
The ship carries 120 medical staff in the specialised 18 departments.
