All Fijian youths are included in Government’s vision to develop and empower young people so they could be self-sufficient.
This was the assurance by the Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Laisenia Tuitubou while addressing youths of Vunidawa in Taveuni last night.
Minister Tuitubou who is on a weeklong tour to Northern maritime communities began his visitations yesterday.
“All Fijian youth groups are included in our vision to develop young people so they could be financially independent, and this is regardless if the youth clubs are faith based or community based,” Minister Tuitubou said.
He added the Ministry also has programmes to assist individuals be entrepreneurs.
Speaking on behalf of the Vunidawa Youth Club, Titilia Tabalailai said while they had income generating projects such as their farms, a warehouse and an incomplete bakery, the club needed Governments assistance in certain aspects to help with its smooth running. This also included the need for trainings to upskill youth members.
Responding to their request, Minister Tuitubou applauded the youths for the effort they had put forth to initiate and generate these projects.
He said they would need to prioritise their requests in a list, putting first the assistance they needed at the earliest.
