The Vodafone Fiji U16 Football team has everything to play for in the OFC U16 Championship in Solomon Islands next week.
Head coach Yogendra Dutt knows what it takes a team to be competitive at Oceania level.
He said every team would come prepared knowing two FIFA U17 World Cup spots at stake following the completion of this championship.
“Within the few days left, we will see what we can improve on from the last game we played.
“Now since two places are available from Oceania, every team comes prepared to qualify for the world cup,” he said.
Fiji is in group B along with Samoa, Tahiti and New Caledonia.
Dutt said they would be taking one game at a time.
“First game is always an important game and Samoan team will also be having players from New Zealand as well.
“It won’t be easy but we will taking one game at a time.”
Fiji plays Samoa in their opening match on September 10 at Lawson Tama Stadium.
