The Fiji under-20 rugby side suffered another huge defeat in the Oceania Rugby U20s Championship, on the Gold Coast.

The Koli Sewabu-coached side went down to New Zealand, 55 points to 15.

The gusty performance by New Zealand against Fiji, had them ahead 15 – 3 at half time.

The Kiwi side re-gathered during the break, coming out in the second half to add a further 40 points to their total, to beat Fiji 55 – 15.

The Fijian side had a better outing in game two, scoring 2 tries.

Fiji in its final match will face Tonga on Saturday, with both sides looking for their first win of the tournament, in their first match-up since the 2017 Oceania Rugby U20s Trophy, which saw nothing separating the teams, following two draws.

Australia and New Zealand will represent Oceania at the World Rugby Under-20s Championship in France in June, while Fiji will contest the second tier World Rugby Under 20s Trophy, in Romania in November.
