The Vodafone Fiji Under 19 Football team defeated Club Mauritius – 2 goals to 1, in their final match of the ‘Melbourne Tour’ last night.

Down by 1 nil to a team that consisted of about six Mauritius Internationals, Fiji fired back in the second half, as Ratu Kaliova Dau, leveled the scores before Iliesa Rakuka, sealed the win under the 8°C temperature.

Head coach – Bal Sanju Reddy said, it was a good learning experience for the team, as they played all quality opponents.

Reddy added, throughout the tour, they remained focused on their purpose – which was to give international exposure to the players, as they build-up towards the OFC playoffs in Tahiti.

The national under 19 football side, won three matches out of four on tour.

The team arrives home at 6.45am tomorrow.
