Fiji Swimming President, Mr Ben Rova said, “The championship is a Youth Olympics Games qualifying event and we are giving our swimmers all the exposure and opportunities to make the qualifying times for the YOG, which will be held in Bueno Aires in September 2018”.

The team for the YOG qualifier event in NZ is:

1. Netani Ross – Mako
2. Temafa Yalimaiwai – Tritons

The participation by the Fiji Swimming Team has been made possible through Government and the Fiji National Sports Commission who have provided the necessary funds as part of the team’s 2019 Pacific Games preparations.

Fiji Swimming also wishes to congratulate Mrs. Trisa Cheer-Dunn on her appointment as a Swimming Technical Official to the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. This is a personal milestone for Mrs. Cheer-Dunn and for Fiji Swimming in having one of our very own officiating at a high level International competition.

Trisa will also be a Technical official at the Oceania Swimming Championships in PNG this month, where Fiji Swimming is sending a team of 22 swimmers and 6 officials.

Fiji Swimming is also grateful to the grant given by Government through FNSC for the FJ$200,000 funding of a new Electronic Score Board to be installed soon at the National Aquatic Centre.

This is to be used for the Junior Pan Pacific Games which Fiji Swimming is Co-Organizing with US Swimming, to be held here in Suva from August 23-27, 2018.
