The Fiji Pearls have made a winning return to international netball last night, beating Singapore 65-57, in last night’s first test.

Due to the unsafe playing conditions at Toa Payoh Sports Hall, the match was moved to OCBC Hall 3, in Kallang, with the first pass delayed by 30 minutes.

Playing their first match in 12 months, the Fiji Pearls trailed 18-11 after the first quarter, but levelled proceedings at 26-all, by half-time.

Coach – Vicki Wilson blooded debutants Grace Korovata, Caitlyn Fisher, Aliti Koribau, Lydia Panapasa, and Ema Mualevu, during the match.

The 14th ranked Fiji Pearls established a 47-42 buffer, heading into the final term, before eventually completing an eight goal victory 65-57.

The two teams will square off again tonight, in the second of three tests.
