The total value of imported goods in the country – in April alone – shows that Fiji has been importing more and exporting less.
According to the Fiji Bureau of Statistics report on international merchandise trade statistics – the total value of goods imported in April this year – is four hundred and one point four million dollars.
While the value of total exports was one hundred and thirty-two million dollars.
Compared to April last year – the total imports increased by thirty four point three million dollars.
Whereas the total exports decreased by twenty six point four million dollars.
Mineral products and machinery is the highest imported goods.
Fiji has imported from Australia, Singapore and New Zealand the most.
