Celebrations will be held around the country this Thursday to commemorate Fiji’s 49th year of independence.
This was confirmed by the Permanent Secretary for Defence and National Security Manasa Lesuma.
Lesuma highlighted that the main celebrations will be held at Suva’s Albert Park and will include a march by the disciplined forces.
Other celebrations will be held in Labasa, Levuka and in the Western division Fiji Day activities will be organised by visiting homes and orphanages.
The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘A Progressive And Sustainable Fiji For All.’
