The Fiji Airways Mens 7s side has started their Sydney 7s campaign on a winning note.

Fiji defeated Japan 34-5 in their opening match.

Josua Vakurunabili scored a double after coming off the bench.

Waisea Nacuqu and captain Kalione Nasoko grabbed a try each while Alosio Naduva scored as well in what is now dubbed as the try of the season.

Naduva chased the from the kick off , the ball sat up well for him before touching down with a flying finish.

Japan get on the board through Kameli Raravou Soejima, who capitalised on Vilimoni Botitu’s missed tackle after some good possession play.

Fiji will play England next at 6:02pm
